Women’s History Month celebration – is co-sponsored by the Violence Intervention Program, Hispanic Federation, AIDS Center of Queens County, Voces Latinas, Woodside on the Move, among other local organizations.

This year’s event will honor the values of distinguished women who have set their minds and hearts upon the continued development and progress of their communities.

Our Special Guest for the celebration will be Miss Universe, Paulina Vega. We will be honoring Carmencita Gutierrez, Director of Immigrations Affairs for the Queens District Attorney’s office; Sarinya Srisakul, New York’s
only Asian-American female firefighter; Priscilla Carrow, well-known and recognized community activist; and Nora Espitia and Rosana Becerra HIV/AIDS
health prevention promoters.

The event will take place at La Boom New York, located at 56-16 Northern Boulevard, 2nd Floor, Woodside, on Friday, March 13 at 5:30 PM.  Please call Senator Jose
